Question: what is the classification of the different certificate stores of LP7VerifyBox.
- Certificate Authorities
+ This certificate store is a "Trust store" and contains trust anchors: final certificates of the varification chain - these certificates are considered trusted - if the certificate is not self signed, it is not verified.
- Intermediate Certificates
+ Certificates used to build the certificate chain - when LP7VerifyBox cannot find a parent certificate, it looks for certificates in this certificate store.
- End Entity Certificates
+ when a signer's certificate cannot be found (content or timestamp signer certificate), LP7VerifyBox looks for certificates in this certificate store.
Note: when one wants to be able to verify a test certificate chain, it is preferable to put the test root certificate in the Intermediate Certificates certificate store.
